About Unitectra
Unitectra is the technology transfer office of the Universities of Basel, Bern and Zurich. With its services, it supports the universities and their researchers in the commercial exploitation of research results. This includes in particular:
Evaluation of inventions
Protection and management of intellectual property (patents, copyright, trademarks, ...)
Strengthening intellectual property during the proof-of-concept phase
Negotiation of licenses with implementation partners on reasonable terms (existing companies or newly founded spin-off companies); controlling of the licenses
In addition, Unitectra supports researchers in negotiating research contracts with partners from the private and public sector, taking into account university guidelines. This is particularly the case for contracts in which intellectual property regulations are relevant.
Unitectra has the legal form of a not-for-profit limited company and is fully owned by the Universities of Basel, Bern and Zurich.
